Tracy Mulroy

Tracy Mulroy Born with a rare congenital condition and defying a grim prognosis, Tracy navigates chronic pain and illness as a full-time wheelchair user. She is short-statured and has broken every bone in her body.
Tracy was introduced to Vipassana meditation in 2008 when she attended Tara Brach’s Wednesday evening class. As an attorney at a large DC firm and a classic Type A overachiever, Tracy was in search of something that would help her manage her chronic stress and pain.
Mindfulness meditation transformed her life and she has found a profound sense of peace and freedom. Over the years, she has developed a regular meditation practice, earned certification as a mindfulness meditation teacher through an intensive two-year program, and participated in numerous retreats with esteemed practitioners like Tara Brach, Jack Kornfield, Sebenie Selassie, and La Sarmiento. Tracy teaches regularly in the disability community and for a non-profit organization.
A lifelong resident of the Washington, DC suburbs, she lives with her dog, Riggins. Tracy is recently amicably divorced from her husband of 20 years and has two adult children through international adoption.
When referred to in the third person, Tracy uses the pronouns she/her.
